Markets –
Rich pastures and plentiful rivers of Herefordshire produce
a good range of products. Many of these are sold at the
Farmers Markets, held in Hereford and other market towns
throughout the year.
Shopping in Hereford – Large traffic-free
pedestrian areas, which provide a central open space for
a variety of entertainment, which is held throughout the
year.
Market Towns – Herefordshire’s historic
market towns, namely Ledbury, Ross-on-Wye, Leomintser, Bromyard
and Kington are all well worth a visit.
Three Counties' Cathedral – The 3 historic
cathedrals dominate the respective cities of Hereford, Worcester
and Gloucester.
Mappa Mundi & Chained Library – at Hereford
Cathedral - drawn on a piece of vellum in about 1290, shows
the world orientated around Jerusalem.
The Old House Museum, Hereford – Built in
1621 The Old House is a fine example of Jacobean architecture.
The Cider Museum, Hereford – Housed in a former
cider works, the museum records cider production from its

Wye Valley – Hereford and Monmouthshire boasts
the beauty of the meandering Wye Valley, from Hay-on-Wye
down to the mouth of the river at Chepstow you will find
an ever changing scenery. Hereford, Ross-on-Wye, Symonds
Yat and Tintern Abbey are among the many historic places
to visit.
Castles – The Welsh Marches has many ancient
castles which are well worth a visit. The castles of Ludlow,
Eastnor, Goodrich and Chepstow are some good examples.
The Malvern Hills – Whether it’s a
leisurely stroll, or an 8-mile hike, the Malvern Hills have
something for every walker not to mention the fabulous views
across the South West Midland’s counties.
